Making it through BFA 3, somehow.

My motion video with Tom Bland first year.

Name an important lesson you've learned so far in your academic career.

It's necessary to bring bad work to critique.

What is your favorite part of the design process?

Brainstorming! I rarely make it past there.

How have current (big) circumstances affected your perspective on design?

I had to figure out how to be my own motivation instead of relying on others

What's your signature design move?

Geometric shapes... They're my weakness

Title Sequence

In the Spring Semester, I created a title Sequence for Motion II with Edwin Alvarenga. This sequence was created for the Netflix series, ‘Into the Night’ which is about the survival of passengers on an overnight flight after the sun burns everything and everyone on earth. .

Calendar Poster

In Caryn Aono’s type class, I developed a black & white calendar that compares sunrise/ sunset times 20 years apart. I found it fascinating that there were only one minute differences on some days. I also liked breaking down the numeric side of nature.

Book Cover

I created this book cover based around the film, ‘I am Not a Witch’ which tells the story of a young girl in Zambia who is forced into a witch camp. I used an egg as a metaphor for the main character Shula, because of her innocence and youth. The back cover references a scene when tourists came to take photos of women in these camps.

A Glimpse at Polish Design

My final Atlas project shows a few spreads of Polish design from a variety of areas. My concept is based around building the country’s identity from scratch after years of being off the map. These spreads are a glimpse of Polish design through my personal lense, and was a self exploration of Poland’s history.
